Disciples of Jesus are filled with His love -week 1 of 2

One of the greatest marks of a disciple is this: we are filled with His love. Jesus said:

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)

This is not just a suggestion—it’s a commandment 📜. And here’s the good news: His commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). Romans 5:5 says, “The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.” 🙌

The Love Command Is Inside Us

Romans 10:8 says:

“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.”

What does that mean for us today? It means the love we need is already inside us! Romans 5:5 says:

“The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”

So when Jesus says, “Love one another,” He’s not asking us to do something impossible. He’s asking us to let His love flow through us. Faith speaks like this:
“I walk in love because His love is in me.”
“Christ has already loved my neighbor for me.”

This is the word of faith we preach: disciples of Jesus are baptized in the Spirit, filled with His love, and compelled to love (2 Cor 5:14).

How Do We Stay Filled With His Love?

  1. Remain in His love 🌿 – “Abide in Me.” (John 15:4,12)

  2. Walk in love 🚶 – “Walk in love, as Christ loved us.” (Eph 5:2)

  3. Pursue love 🏃 – “Earnestly pursue love.” (1 Cor 14:1)

And keep stirring it up:

  • Pray in the Spirit (Jude 20) 🙏

  • Worship together (Eph 5:19) 🎶

  • Speak words of faith 💬: “I am full of God’s love.”

Be Continually Filled

Ephesians 5:18 says: “Be filled with the Spirit.” The original means keep on being filled—through prayer, worship, and thanksgiving.

Final Thought

Love is the fulfillment of the law. It’s simple: remain in His love, walk in it, pursue it daily ❤️. Let’s declare it, live it, and share it.
