How to Encounter God daily - Week 1 of 3

We were never meant to live distant from God. In fact, we were created for His glory—to know Him, reflect Him, and reveal Him to the world around us. And one of the most powerful ways we do that is through encounter.

In this episode, we explore what it means to truly encounter God — not just once, but daily, in the glory of Jesus.

What Is an Encounter?

To encounter means to unexpectedly meet someone. And yet, as followers of Jesus, we’re invited to expect the unexpected—to live in daily awareness of His presence, voice, and power. These moments of divine interruption are not rare—they’re part of our design.

“Everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory…” – Isaiah 43:7

Why Seek Encounters?

Because we were made for them. As we behold Jesus, we are transformed into His image (2 Corinthians 3:18). Encounters with God are not just for our benefit—they’re for His glory. When we experience His peace, others should feel it through us. We become living encounters for the world.

Personal Stories of Encounter

Pastor Samuel shares how God met him in unexpected ways—from a childhood prayer of salvation to a powerful revelation of God as Father in his own home. These moments weren’t orchestrated—they were gifts of grace. And they changed everything.

One such moment came through a memory of playing with his earthly father. The Spirit of Jesus used that memory to reveal how the Father in heaven sees us: with delight, affection, and unwavering love. We are the apple of His eye everyday.

How Do We Encounter God?

  1. Through Jesus – He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). True knowledge of God comes through Him.

  2. By Seeing His Glory – Jesus is the exact representation of God’s being (Hebrews 1:3). To know Jesus is to know the Father.

  3. Through the Word and the Spirit – The Spirit of Jesus reveals the Father, and every true encounter aligns with Scripture (John 1:1–14).

  4. By Seeking Him – God promises to reveal Himself to those who seek Him with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:13, James 4:8).

The Greek word epiginóskó describes a deep, experiential knowledge of God—not just intellectual, but relational and transformative. This is the kind of knowing that changes us from the inside out.

A Life Aligned with Heaven

Encounters with God bring alignment with His purpose. They shape our character, soften our hearts, and transform how we relate to others—especially those closest to us. As we see the Father’s face, we begin to reflect it.

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ … let the one who is thirsty come.” – Revelation 22:17

Your Invitation

God is not distant. He’s near. He’s willing. And He’s looking for hearts fully committed to Him. As we draw near, He draws near. And as we encounter Him, we become more like Him.

So here’s the challenge:
How can you lead yourself closer to Jesus this week?
Make space for encounters. Expect the unexpected. And help others do the same.
